Guerrilla Lets Killzone Stomp Onto PSP

It's not just the PlayStation 3 that is getting something from one of Sony's newest studios. First screens.

Sony and developer Guerrilla caused a major stir with the showing of Killzone for PlayStation 3 last year, but that's not the only game the company has coming for its new parent. Sony has revealed that there is a new Killzone in the works for the PSP.

Killzone: Liberation mixes up the pot a bit. Gone is the prototypical first-person shooter look and feel and in its stead is something more reminiscent of a top-down shooter.

"We were keen to ensure Killzone: Liberation was totally unique and offered PSP owners a different Killzone experience. So, Killzone: Liberation has been developed from scratch - creating what we think is an intense portable gaming experience," said Guerrilla's Hermen Hulst.

Don't fret, though, as the trademark art direction has survived the translation intact, and the dastardly Helghast are looking as grim as ever.

The story picks up where the original Killzone on PlayStation 2 ended, with the Helghast hell-bent on taking down the ISA. Your role in the story is to find and rescue ISA prisoners of war.

Are you up for the challenge? Find out when Killzone: Liberation arrives this autumn.
