Rainbow Six on 360 - First HD Screens
The game debuts on the Xbox 360 with a new team, new gameplay and the same old baddies. Must-see screens.
Las Vegas is hardly the most scrupulous town at the best of times, but when terrorists target the city it's up to the Rainbow Six team to clean up the mess. Come this autumn, you'll be able to save the city in the next-generation debut of Ubisoft's popular series in Rainbow Six Vegas.
While the strategic core of the gameplay remains, there's plenty of new stuff here to get series fans excited. The most obvious change is a brand new team. The four-member squad from recent games is gone and has been replaced by a more streamlined team comprised of Jung Park, a long range and electronics specialist, Michael Walter, heavy weapons and demolition expert, and team leader Logan Keller, who is also the squad's recon man.
Like Ubisoft's other Xbox 360 Tom Clancy game, Rainbow Six Vegas is set in several areas of the one city, which for this game includes the world famous Strip, home to some of the most elaborate casinos anywhere, and Las Vegas's other hot spots.
The developers at Ubisoft's Montreal studio have pushed for realism above all else and that means keeping you on the field as much as possible. To do this, they've incorporated real-time briefings from your commanding officers and real-time strategy discussions with your teammates.
Part of the success of past Rainbow Six games was the popular online play. Ubisoft hasn't gone into much detail about what we can expect this time but we do know that you'll be able to customize your own character that will evolve as you play.
While Ubisoft is giving the Xbox 360 version the biggest push right now, it has announced that there's a PC version coming too, though this will differ from its Xbox 360 counterpart.
Rainbow Six Vegas will be out for Xbox 360 this autumn.
