Red Steel Slices Into Revolution Launch
Ubisoft confirms the game and says it'll be there for the debut of the system.
It's been a busy week for Ubisoft's Revolution offerings. After a leaked magazine report revealed the first information on Ubisoft's new gun-'n-knife game Red Steel, one of the first confirmed games for the new console, the company has now officially announced the game.
Red Steel sees you playing an American affianced to a Japanese-American woman whose father happens to have a special ceremonial katana the Yakuza are after. One kidnapping and the death of your future father-in-law later and you're on the trail of the baddies with the blade in question and an array of modern weapons.
Ubisoft says it is working closely with Nintendo to make full use of the myriad options opened up by the Revolution's motion sensing controller.
In keeping with Nintendo's mantra of giving gamers something new to play while enticing non-gamers, Ubisoft says the game, "will appeal to gamers who thirst for a new video game experience, as well as those who may have not previously considered picking up a controller".
"Nintendo is excited to have Ubisoft bring Red Steel to the Revolution launch line-up," said Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime. "Ubisoft makes some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed games in the industry and from what we have seen from Red Steel it is going to be a standout exclusive title on the Revolution."
