Zombies Bring City of the Dead Details

George A Romero's game gets a name and a plot. First screens included too.

With Resident Evil 4 opting out of using traditional zombies, the scene is set for George A. Romero City of the Dead to bring the world the serving of the undead it so sorely needs.

But there's more to the esteemed horror movie director's new game than just the life-deprived; horror aficionados will welcome the involvement of another genre icon, make-up artist and From Dusk Till Dawn star Tom Savini, who brings his distinctive voice to the proceedings.

The game, in development at UK-based Kuju Interactive, follows the lives of four people stranded on Isla Mortal, a secret military installation overrun with, you guessed it, zombies.

In addition to the meat and potatoes of the singleplayer mode, City of the Dead lavishes thick, creamy helpings of co-operative and competitive multiplayer, the latter giving you the chance to play as a zombie.

Sadly, you'll have to wait till next year to live the horror - City of the Dead will be out for Xbox, PC and PlayStation in spring 2006.
